When you’re wearing braces, you probably want to get through with your orthodontic treatment as fast as possible. While it does take some time and patience to get the details just right, there are a few steps that you can take to make sure your treatment doesn’t last longer than it needs to.
Are you supposed to be wearing an appliance, changing out bands, or avoiding certain foods? You owe it to your smile to play by the rules. If you don’t, it could mean that extra adjustments or repairs need to be made. It’s easy to add on an extra 2 or 3 months of treatment, just because you didn’t do what you were supposed to at home.
Keep Your Appointments
Your orthodontic follow-up visits are vital to progressing your tooth movement as planned. Even the slightest of adjustments play a huge role in your treatment. Missing an appointment here and there will cost you - not in money, but in time. Keep cancellations and rescheduled visits to a minimum. Thankfully most of these visits are fairly quick, so it doesn’t necessarily have to interfere with your busy schedule.
